Squid.

Squid is a formidable bait that will catch a variety of species. There are a variety of different names for squid that usually refers to it's size. Party squid (juvenille Calamari) is readily available, cheap and very good. Used whole it can catch larger fish such as Bass, Dogfish and Huss. The larger varieties of squid can be sectioned and used for either tipping off other baits (mackeral tipped with squid gives off an impressive scent trail and also a visual attractant). Used as a tube, you can stuff squid with oily baits and cast out on a large hook for big species, conger etc. A cheap bait that is proven to be very productive in certain circumstances.
