In August 2007 we decided to create SouthDevonFishing, a website and forum for people interested in fishing the area that we live in. Initially it was a hobby that we anticipated would take up a couple of hours a month, just to update and moderate. One year on and by August 2008 we had far exceeded our expectations. We had over 500 members and there was a great deal of activity on the SDF forums. Dr Sheff (Tom) organised an anniversary competition to acknowledge the first year and it was a great day.

Moving onwards and upwards, we quickly realised this was getting much bigger and busier than we'd first imagined. Another year on and we had over 1000 members. We held another competition and again another great day was had by all.
 
At the end of 2009 we had reached the end of a difficult year. After much discussion it was decided that we had outgrown the lounge in our house and we needed to find somewhere else. Lisa sourced an office in central Torquay that fitted the bill. Lisa negotiated the office and what was initially a hobby was now a full time enterprise.
Since then we have migrated from our former providers for the webhost and forum and moved on to have a more stable and better online experience. SDF is still completely independant and has no ties nor bias toward any individual companies nor brands.

2010 and on... We still have loads to do and there is no end to where this can lead.
